Inter RAO cannot begin supplying electricity to Uzbekistan due to logistical problems

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Russian Inter RAO cannot begin supplying electricity to Uzbekistan due to the lack of sufficient transmission capacity. TASS reports this.

“The company has also been working on exporting electricity to Uzbekistan, but now the lack of sufficient capacity does not allow it to begin deliveries,” the agency said in a report.

In February 2024, it was reported that Inter RAO was considering the issue of supplying electricity to Uzbekistan. According to Alexandra Panina, a member of the board of Inter RAO, the Uzbek side showed interest, but everything came down to complex logistics.

Alexandra Panina then announced Uzbekistan’s interest in Inter RAO’s proposal to supply electricity to the country.

According to the Statistics Agency, Uzbekistan produced 13.48 billion kWh of electricity in January-February 2024.
