Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 6 September, a parliamentary delegation led by Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva met with Chairperson of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Vladimir Andreichenko.

During the dialogue, the focus was on Uzbek-Belarusian cooperation, in particular the issues of strengthening inter-parliamentary ties, developing cooperation in the trade and economic sphere and the field of entrepreneurship.

It was noted that inter-parliamentary dialogue plays an important role in bilateral relations. It was emphasized that the parliamentarians of the two countries are actively cooperating within the framework of such international parliamentary organizations as the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly and the Inter-Parliamentary Union.

It was noted that parliamentarians should make every effort to ensure effective parliamentary control over the implementation of agreements reached at the highest level.

In addition, the issues of the first business forum of business circles and women entrepreneurs of Uzbekistan and Belarus, which will be held in Minsk, and the active participation of women entrepreneurs in it, were discussed. The hope was expressed that this forum will become an effective platform for discussing and developing new proposals for the development of women’s entrepreneurship and the strengthening of trade and economic ties between our countries.

The parties also exchanged views on the further development of cooperation in cultural, humanitarian and other areas.
