Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbaeva met with Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Valery Belsky.

The meeting was held within the framework of the II Global Forum on Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation to Achieve the Sustainable Development Goals in Tashkent.

At the meeting, the current state and prospects of Uzbek-Belarusian relations were discussed, in particular, strengthening inter-parliamentary interaction and developing ties between regions.

Particular attention was paid to the active role of the business community of both countries, especially business women, in the implementation of mutually beneficial projects. The business forum for business women was highlighted as an effective platform for discussing and forming new ideas to strengthen trade and economic ties.

The parties emphasized the importance of effective parliamentary control over the implementation of agreements in the field of economy, trade and industry, reached at a high level. A desire was also expressed to combine efforts to provide legislative support for these agreements.

As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached to continue mutual support for the initiatives of the parties within the framework of international parliamentary structures.
