Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In the first quarter of 2024, insurance companies in Uzbekistan collected premiums worth 2.21 trillion soums, according to data from the National Agency for Prospective Projects (NAPP).
Today, there are 30 general insurance organizations and 5 life insurance organizations operating in the Uzbekistan market.
At the end of the first quarter of 2024, the volume of insurance payments amounted to 570 billion soums. According to NAPP, 75% of payments come from voluntary insurance.
Insurance companies invested 6.1 trillion soums in the economy of Uzbekistan, with 66.4% of investments directed into deposits.
The total assets of insurers reached 9.9 trillion soums, and the total capital of insurance companies in the reporting period amounted to 2.32 trillion soums.
According to the regulator, two insurance companies were fined a total of 224 million soums and had their licenses revoked.
