Inspectorate for control over the agro-industrial complex transferred to the Ministry of Agriculture

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In connection with the improvement of public administration in the field of agriculture and food security, by resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 653, changes and additions were made to some legal acts, Norma reports.

As part of administrative reforms, the Inspectorate for Control of the Agro-Industrial Complex was transferred from the system of the Cabinet of Ministers to the organizational structure of the Ministry of Agriculture and changes were made to its powers.

In accordance with Presidential Decree No. UP-90 from 10 June 2023, changes and additions are being made to certain government documents, envisaging:

- state control by executive bodies over the protection of agricultural lands in the organizational structure of the Ministry of Agriculture, planting of agricultural crops, growing seeds, testing of agricultural, reclamation and road equipment;

- checking the unauthorized removal of fertile soil layers, their loading and removal, preventing the withdrawal of lands intended for agriculture, their effective and rational use;

- organization of production of seeds and varieties of agricultural crops, as well as their economical use;

- identification of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) and dangerous hidden viral diseases in seeds and imported crops.

Changes and additions are made to the resolutions of the Cabinet of Ministers “On measures to strengthen control and improve the efficiency of use of cotton seed resources”, “On additional measures to improve the mechanism for the supply and use of cotton seeds ”, “On measures to further stimulate the improvement of the quality of cottonseed oil produced” and others.
