Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Committee for Competition Development and Consumer Rights Protection of Uzbekistan has initiated proceedings against the insurance company Inson for violations of automobile insurance rules.
According to the committee, several clients have lodged complaints against the insurance company. They reported that under Inson’s electronic OSAGO policies with "unlimited" number of drivers, compensations for liability were not paid to close relatives of the vehicle owner.
The committee found that when issuing the OSAGO policy for an "unlimited" number of drivers, the company did not fill out section 7 of the policy, which requires listing the close relatives of the owner authorized to drive the vehicle.
Under the new version of the Road Traffic Regulations, close relatives listed in the OSAGO policy have had the right to independently operate the vehicle without power of attorney since 2019.
The absence of the names of the owner’s relatives in the OSAGO policies meant that Inson effectively did not extend insurance coverage to them, resulting in non-payment of compensations.
Legal proceedings have been initiated against the company under Article 19 of the Law on Consumer Rights Protection.
