Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed a resolution “On Urgent Measures for the Implementation of the 'From Poverty to Prosperity' Program.”
According to this document, an urgent action plan has been approved for the implementation of the Program, and target indicators for reducing poverty levels in various areas and regions for 2024–2025 have been established.
As part of the decree, it is planned to select 1,000 most needy neighborhoods, compile their list, and approve a program to improve their infrastructure by 1 November.
Additionally, by 1 December 2024, programs for accelerated comprehensive development of districts and cities for 2024–2025 will be approved to create favorable conditions for entrepreneurship, living, and recreation for all segments of the population. Within these programs, a "Green Neighborhood" project will be implemented in at least one neighborhood.
Furthermore, to support entrepreneurship, 4 trillion soums will be allocated in the form of loans by the end of this year, and 15 trillion soums in 2025. These funds will be distributed through family business development programs, the "First Step to Business" initiative, and microfinance organizations.
