Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 22 September, a solemn meeting was held at Tashkent International Airport named after Islam Karimov for the first flight on the Delhi-Tashkent-Delhi route, launched by the Indian low-cost airline IndiGo. The event was organized in collaboration with low-cost airline IndiGo and the Tourism Board.

In order to ensure the implementation of the tasks specified in the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On measures to further accelerate reforms and effective organization of the public administration system in the field of tourism”, increasing the flow of tourists entering our country from abroad, air flights on the Delhi-Tashkent-Delhi route are launched.

It was attended by representatives of the Tourism Committee, the Embassy of India in Uzbekistan, Uzbekistan Airports JSC, those responsible for tourism and transport, as well as representatives of various media.

For your information, in Tashkent, not far from the Tashkent International Airport named after Islam Karimov, the official representative office of the largest Indian airline, IndiGo low-cost airline, began its activities.

IndiGo airline was founded in 2006 and currently has the youngest fleet of aircraft in the world. The company has more than 300 Airbus-A320 and A320neo aircraft, and it is planned to supply another 499 aircraft under the contract.

This year, IndiGo won the ‘Best Low Cost Airline in India and South Asia’ award from SkyTrax for the 13th time in a row.
