India tops the list of countries by number of students in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — India ranks first in terms of the number of students studying in Uzbekistan.
According to data from the National Statistics Committee, as of the beginning of the 2024/2025 academic year, there are 12,500 foreign students enrolled in universities across the country.
The largest number of students comes from India, with 6,502 individuals. Following India are Turkmenistan with 1,430 students, Pakistan with 1,250, the Russian Federation with 732, and Kazakhstan with 639 students.
A significant number of students also arrive from Kyrgyzstan (369), China (325), Tajikistan (322), the Republic of Korea (197), Afghanistan (157), and Canada (126). An additional 431 students come from other countries.
