IndexInfo issues marketing review on construction materials’ market
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 3 June 2012, IndexInfo issued a new marketing review, dedicated to studying problems and perspectives of construction materials’ industry of Uzbekistan.

The document presents an analysis and the forecast of the country’s demand for construction materials in 2011-2015, as well as reviews the building industry in the neighboring countries in order to explore potential external markets for the building materials exportation from Uzbekistan.

According to experts, significant volume of capital investments within the mid-term state programme on modernization of economy will lead to growth of capital construction.

In line with the forecasts, the volume of construction works will grow by 9.8% annually, which will help to growth of construction materials’ consumption. According to IndexIndo calculations, the demand for basic construction materials will reach 6.831 trillion soums by 2015, or grew twice compared to 2010.

In other hand, there is also capacious market of construction materials in neighbouring states – Central Asian states, Russia, China and Afghanistan. In last five years, these countries imported construction materials, which are produced in Uzbekistan or could be produced, for US$8.853 billion in average each year.

Experts of IndexInfo forecast that these countries will import construction materials for US$12.4 billion in 2011-2015, which will grow by 14.7% compared to 2010.

Despite positive development of local construction materials’ industry in past years, current system of functioning and management cannot effectively react to changes and challenges. The review also reveals reasons for existing problems in industry, offers proposals and recommendations on their eliminations.
