Incorrectly Assessed Tax Debt of 157 Billion Soums in Andijan Written Off Following Entrepreneur’s Appeal
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A tax debt amounting to 157 billion soums, which arose due to a technical error, was annulled in Andijan. This was reported by the press service of the Authorized Person under the President for the Protection of the Rights and Legitimate Interests of Business Entities.
An appeal from an entrepreneur in Andijan, submitted through the virtual office, was reviewed by the staff of the Business Ombudsman’s office and received a positive resolution. In his statement, the entrepreneur disagreed with the results of a desk tax audit conducted regarding his activities.
During the audit, an additional 6.5 billion soums were charged to the entrepreneur for value-added tax, personal income tax, and social tax. However, due to a technical error, the tax authority mistakenly issued a demand for 164.1 billion soums.
Thanks to the intervention of the Business Ombudsman’s office staff, the inflated debt of 157.6 billion soums was canceled, and the entrepreneur was issued a corrected and accurate tax demand.
