Income tax rate for foreign citizens reduced

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- According to the decree of the President "On regular reforms to improve the business environment and create conditions for sustainable economic growth through the development of the private sector", the following has been introduced:

- antimonopoly measures are not applied to entrepreneurs whose sales revenue for the last year does not exceed 10,000 sizes of basic estimated value (2.7 billion soums);

From 1 September 2022, economic entities that have committed anti-competitive actions will be subject to financial penalties for:

- coordination of agreements and economic activities leading to the restriction of competition in the commodity and financial markets;

- unreasonable overpricing of socially and strategically significant goods and unfair competition;

- violation of competition during mergers, acquisitions and conclusion of transactions for the purchase and sale of shares by business entities;

- implementation of anticompetitive actions at public auctions and violation of antimonopoly requirements.

From 1 May 2022, income tax on non-resident income received from sources in Uzbekistan is set at 12 percent (previously up to 20 percent).

From 1 July 2022, customs duty exemptions will be provided only in accordance with the law.

In accordance with this Decree, a strategy for the development of public transport infrastructure in the city of Nukus and in all regional centers will be implemented using the example of the city of Tashkent.
