Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- According to preliminary data from the Statistical Agency, as of 1 April 2023, 420,759 units of business entities (excluding farms and dekhkan farms) are operating in Uzbekistan, of which the number of small businesses is 417,215 units.

High rates of the number of operating small businesses were recorded in the following regions:

in the city of Tashkent - 82,237 units.

in the Tashkent region -38,664 units.

in the Samarkand region - 37,862 units.

in the Fergana region - 36,143 units.

in Kashkadarya region - 32,688 units.

in Andijan region - 27,230 units.

By type of economic activity, the number of small businesses was distributed as follows:

in trade - 151,761 units.

in industry - 74,713 units.

in agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 41,426 units.

in construction - 34,772 units.

in the industry of accommodation and catering services - 27,785 units.
