Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As part of promoting economic diplomacy and attracting Japanese companies to the economy of the republic, the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Japan held talks with representatives of Morinaga Milk Industry Co. Morinaga Milk Industry Co., Ltd. was established in 1917 and specializes in the production of dairy products, drinks, sweets, confectionery and infant formula. The company’s turnover is US$4 billion, including the sale of healthy food products - 24%, dairy products - 36%, products containing bifidobacteria and lactoferrin - 16%. The company has production facilities in Germany, Indonesia, Singapore, Pakistan, Vietnam, Malaysia and the USA. The company employs more than 6 thousand people. The company is the first company to market lactulose dairy products in 1960 and is also the world’s leading manufacturer of lactoferrin products.

During the negotiations, General Manager Takashi Takeda got acquainted with the development of the consumer market of dairy products in Uzbekistan, the procedure for importing dairy products to the republic, demographic data, investment potential and export opportunities of the republic, a wide range of dairy products manufactured by domestic producers, as well as imported.

For his part, T. Takashi spoke about the international activities of the company in Indonesia, Singapore, Pakistan, Vietnam, Malaysia, where production and sales of products are carried out, which is 9% of the company’s turnover. T. Takashi also noted that, taking into account the demographic growth of Uzbekistan, he sees a large potential market for dairy products Morinaga Milk Industry Co. ltd.

As a result of the meeting, agreements were reached on specific areas of mutual cooperation.
