Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- During the visit of the working group of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the United States, the chairman of the Uzcharmsanoat association, Fakhriddin Boboev, met with the president of the Apparel and Footwear Association of America (AAFA) Stephen Lamar.

During the negotiations, the parties discussed the possibility of establishing cooperation with major brands of the American Association, the participation of Uzbekistan in events organized by AAFA.

The American Apparel and Footwear Association (AAFA) is the authority on public policy and the political voice of the apparel and footwear industry, its leadership and shareholders. The association represents more than 1,000 world-famous brands, retailers and manufacturers. The trade turnover of the Association's members collectively amounts to $500 billion.

The President of this Association, Mr. Lamar, was provided with complete information about the current role of the Uzbek leather and footwear industry in the country’s economy, as well as the niche occupied in the global leather industry. At the meeting we talked about industry growth trends and factors contributing to accelerated development: government support, benefits and preferences created across the country for specialized MPZs. There was also talk about favorable conditions for investors to do business and guarantees of the inviolability of private property.

At the negotiating table, issues of establishing close cooperation with world-famous AAFA member brands and attracting them to Uzbekistan were discussed.
