IMRI experts studied prices in the largest supermarket chains

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Experts from the Institute of Macroeconomic and Regional Research (IMRI) in November 2023 conducted regular monitoring of prices for food products for 21 items in the largest supermarket chains in Tashkent.

The monitoring results showed that for 7 items the minimum prices decreased compared to the previous month*. Thus, the decrease in prices for red carrots amounted to 42.1%, lemon - 39.0%, white cabbage - 16.7%, milk - 14.9%, banana - 12.3%, sunflower oil - 9.7%, and potatoes – 6.4%.

For 9 items, the minimum prices remained unchanged. Among them are rice, wheat flour, sugar, etc.

Prices have increased for 5 items. In particular, cucumbers and tomatoes have become more expensive, which is due to the seasonal factor. It should be noted that similar dynamics were also observed last year, which indicates the recurrence of this phenomenon and its impact on market trends.

*analysis was carried out based on monitoring data carried out on 12 October and 9 November.
