Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Experts from the Institute of Macroeconomic and Regional Research (IMRI) in June 2024 conducted another monitoring of prices for food products for 21 items in the largest supermarket chains in Tashkent.

The monitoring results showed that for 16 items the minimum prices decreased compared to the previous month. The largest decrease in prices was noted for cabbage (decrease by 59.4%), tomato (-51.7%) and cucumber (-51.7%).

For 2 items, the minimum prices remained unchanged. Among them are chicken meat (fillet) and milk.

Prices have increased for 3 items. The leader in price growth is potatoes. Short-term increases in potato prices are associated with temporary market factors, changes in supply and demand.

It should be noted that analysis was carried out based on monitoring data carried out on 2 May and 13 June 2024.
