Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Experts from the Institute of Macroeconomic and Regional Research (IMRI) in December 2023 conducted regular monitoring of prices for food products for 21 items in the largest supermarket chains in Tashkent.
The monitoring results showed that for 8 items the minimum prices decreased compared to the previous month. Thus, the price decrease for white cabbage was 22.0%, rice - 15.6%, red carrots - 10.0%, sunflower oil - 7.4%, yellow onions - 6.8%, margarine - 6.6% , lemon – 5.6%, table beet – 5.1%.
For 9 items, the minimum prices remained unchanged. Among them are buckwheat, milk, wheat flour, etc.
Prices for 4 items have increased, the increase in the cost of tomatoes and cucumbers is especially noticeable.
It is important to note that a similar trend was also observed in the previous year, which indicates seasonality in the supply of these products to the market.
