Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In September 2024, experts from the Institute of Macroeconomic and Regional Studies under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan (IMRI) conducted a new price monitoring of food products across 21 items in major supermarkets in Tashkent.
The results of the study indicated that minimum prices for eight items decreased compared to the previous month. Notably, there was a 28.2% drop in apple prices, an 18.7% decrease for tomatoes, a 15.9% reduction for cabbage, a 13.8% decline for lemons, a 5.9% drop for buckwheat, a 3.1% decrease for chicken fillet, a 2.0% reduction for yellow onions, and a 1.6% drop for sugar.
Conversely, prices for nine items increased, with the most significant rise observed for potatoes, attributed to seasonal fluctuations.
Four items—wheat flour, rice, red carrots, and chicken eggs—remained stable in price.
