Important issues of labor safety in Uzbekistan discussed during Business Forum
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Business Forum on the issues of labor safety regulations in Uzbekistan was in Tashkent city. The event was organized by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan, UNDP Project “Business Forum of Uzbekistan” and consulting center “MOST”.

The main objective of the Business Forum was assessment of the current state of labor safety system in Uzbekistan, discussion of the important issues in this area and development of the recommendations on further improvement of the of labor safety system.

The representatives of the Ministry of labor and social protection of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Chamber of commerce and industry, Federation of trade unions, along with representatives of the ministries, agencies, associations and corporations, Republican scientific center for employment, labor protection and social protection of population, as well as corporate managers on health and safety of the large enterprises of key industries and entrepreneurs attended the meeting.

The participants considered issues the role of trade unions in the organization of labor, legal aspects of compulsory insurance of civil liability of the employer and others.

Participants of the Business forum expressed their recommendation and proposals aimed at improving the organization of work in the field of labor protection and health safety, implementation of the provisions of the law “On obligatory insurance of an employer’s civil liability” and “On obligatory state social insurance against industrial accidents and occupational diseases”, as well as the need for creation of multilevel system of health and safety management based on the recommendations of the International Labor Organization.
