Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As part of the implementation of the master plan for Shakhrisabz district, developed with the support of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), on 5-7 October, an international expert from Germany, Karl Heins, is visiting Kashkadarya region.

Karl Heins in tandem with local experts and a specialist from IT-Park, will study the current situation with the digitalization of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Kashkadarya region, identify 3-4 local pilot business entities from different sectors and introduce digital solutions in the value chain.

As part of the study, the experts visited Shakhrisabz district of Kashkadarya region, where, in order to prepare and implement the master plan for this region, they held a series of meetings with local authorities, as well as business representatives in selected sectors, namely agriculture, tourism, education and services (restaurant service and public catering). At the same time, special attention is paid to the issues of IT services in the field of tourism, and their widespread introduction is expected.

The following tasks were assigned to the experts:

- studying the possibilities of applying in our country the best international practices on the digitalization of MSME value chains in rural areas;

- conducting an express assessment of the value chain, problems and opportunities for the mass introduction of digital solutions in the activities of individual MSMEs in pilot areas;

- installation and testing of the best modern examples of digital solutions (systems, equipment, maintenance and other tools) in the activities of pilot MSMEs with staff training and setting performance targets;

- preparation of practical recommendations and mechanisms for the digitalization of the value chain for further widespread implementation of this experience.

It is expected to study the performance of selected enterprises, monitor changes from baseline to targets, and prepare a brief analysis with practical recommendations for organizing a systematic approach to introducing digital systems into the value chains and digital transformation of MSMEs in the region and their implementation in practice.

The above issues on e-commerce, improving the quality of information about the economic and tourism potential, as well as providing youth employment and creating conditions for improving the digital skills of the population will create a platform for inclusive development and show the integrated economic potential of Shakhrisabz district, including in the field of tourism.
