Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The leadership of the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan met with representatives of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to discuss tax reform plans for the period 2024-2027.

During the meeting, the IMF expert group led by senior economist of the Department of Fiscal Affairs Girten Michels presented an analysis of the current tax system of Uzbekistan and recommendations for its improvement.

Particular attention is paid to value added tax, income tax, personal income tax and excise tax.

Plans for further cooperation and implementation of tax reforms were also discussed.
