Ilkhom Muminjanov fined for 50 million soums and suspended for 5 years

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Based on the decision of the Ethics Committee of the Uzbekistan Football Association on 20 February 2019, the AFU Football Supervision Department was tasked to examine the involvement of the former head coach of the Navbahor club in Namangan, Ilkhom Muminjanov, in the fixed matches.

In this regard, the AFU Football Supervision Department held talks with a number of football players and officials, who worked together with Ilkhom Muminjanov in Navbahor. A number of documentary evidence collected on the basis of the data obtained was submitted for consideration by the Ethical Committee of the Uzbekistan Football Association.

The Ethics Committee of the AFU reviewed the submitted documents and held a final meeting on April 1 in the AFU building.

According to paragraph 5.44 of the Disciplinary Code, the following decisions were made during the meeting:

For the attempts of the former head coach of Navbakhor Ilkhom Muminjanov in the organization of match fixing in 2017:

- to fine a trainer for 50,000,000 (fifty) million soums;

- remove from any kind of football activity for a period of 4 (four) years, and plus one (1) year by decision of the Ethics Committee No. 02/2019 in the case of Aziz Turgunbaev dated February 2, 2019. A total of specialist disqualified for a period of 5 (five) years.

Sharipov Sherzod, Technical Director of PFK “Surkhan”, was suspended from any football activity until the end of the 2019 season for providing false testimony during the investigation and an attempt to mislead the Ethics Committee and officials of the FSA on this issue.

During the investigation, it became known that the captain of the Surkhan PFC, Jabbarov Dilshod assisted the former head coach of the Navbakhor in organizing fixed matches in 2017, besides ignoring the oral and written requests of the Ethics Committee, and also without good reason did not attend meetings committee. Based on the above, according to clause 5.52 of the Disciplinary Code of the AFU, the player is suspended from any type of football activity until the end of the 2019 football season.

During the meeting, it was announced that if the players, specialists or coaches, regardless of their status, will be found guilty in assisting in match-fixing in the future, they will be punished under all the laws of our country.
