The sides reached agreement on holding of the famous Japanese painter and scholar Ikuo Hirayama in Tashkent in autumn 2012 in the result of negotiations. Earlier, two foundations signed a memorandum of understanding in May 2011.
President of the Japanese Foundation Michiko Hirayama said that the exhibition will be held for the first time in Central Asia. She said that the project will attract attention of citizens of Uzbekistan.
Ms. Hirayama noted activities of Fund Forum in Japan, which conduct many joint projects to improving relations between two nations.
Ikuo Hirayama was honorable citizen of Tashkent city and founded International Cultural Caravan-Sarai. Today, the Foundation “The Hirayama Ikuo Silk Road Museum” is led by Michiko Hirayama.
