ICT Week has been held in Uzbekistan each year since 2004. It takes place in the end of September and includes several events dedicated to development of the ICT sector.

The Week is organized by the Committee on Information and Communication Technologies of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Information and Analytical Department of Information Systems and Telecommunications of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the State Committee for Communications, Information and Telecommunication Technologies, Association of IT Enterprises and Organizations of Uzbekistan and the company CIB GROUP.

The Week will include a National summit on information-communication technologies, which will kick off on 24 September. The participants will discuss development of ICT sector in Uzbekistan and the world, latest software and products in ICT sector, trends in the ICT sector.

The National Summit will also discuss development of e-government and introduction of ICT into libraries, educational establishments, healthcare, etc.

On 25-27 September, Annual National Exhibition of Information Technologies ICTExpo 2013 will be held in Tashkent and Jizzakh.

The exhibition will be attended by leading ICT companies of Uzbekistan and foreign state. They will present their new products and services, as well as solutions. The e-government will be important direction of the exhibition.

The exhibition will include various seminars, roundtables, campaigns and contests. It is expected that 35,000 people visit the exhibition in three days.

On 26 September 2013, the roundtable dedicated to issues of developing internet providing and local content in Uzbekistan will be held.

The event will be attended by the state officials, Uzbektelecom and internet providers of Uzbekistan and discuss issues of developing access to Internet and Uzbek internet segment.

The Week will include an international seminar “Issues of legislative regulation of developing information communication technologies” on 27 September 2013.

The seminar will consider issues of improving legislative framework on introduction of ICT and modernization of information resources. It is also planned to discuss a draft law “On electronic government”.

On the last day of the Week, the awarding ceremony of the contest among young software developers Best Soft Challenge and qualification round of World Computer Games 2013 will be held.
