Hungarian envoy holds talks at Uzbek Foreign Ministry
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary to Uzbekistan with residence in Moscow István Íjgyártó held a meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 7 June 2011.

During the meeting, the Ambassador handed over copy of credentials, addressed to the President of Uzbekistan. At the meeting, the sides exchanged opinion on current Uzbek-Hungarian relations.

It was noted that it is important to hold regular political consultations between Ministries of Foreign Affairs, last of which was held in Tashkent in April 2011, to revise positions on cooperation issues of bilateral and multilateral formats.

Presidency of the European Union in the first half of 2011, within which regional ministerial meeting “EU-Central Asia” was held in Tashkent, was positively rated.

The sides called for deepening trade-economic cooperation, developing mutual beneficial cooperation in industrial and civil construction, processing agriculture products, pharmaceuticals, chemistry, textile, electrotechnical, machinery industries and implementing projects at Navoi free industrial and economic zone. The sides also noted that the bilateral contacts should be strengthened in tourism sector.

It was said that initialing of the intergovernmental agreement on economic cooperation during the current visit of Hungarian envoy to Uzbekistan is important step in strengthening the Uzbek-Hungarian relations.

During the discussion, the sides also discussed regional and international issues of mutual interest.
