Huawei Opens First Official Branch in Ferghana
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The city of Ferghana has officially welcomed the opening of Huawei's first and only official branch in the Ferghana region, marking the company’s second regional office in Uzbekistan after the capital.
The opening ceremony was attended by Khayrullo Bozorov, Hokim of the Ferghana region, who highlighted the significance of establishing an office by one of the world’s leading information and communication technology companies.
“Huawei’s presence in Ferghana opens up vast opportunities for the development of the region’s digital infrastructure, IT workforce training, and joint projects in ICT and artificial intelligence,” noted the regional leader.
Huawei has been active in Uzbekistan for more than 25 years, playing a major role in the digital transformation of various sectors, including the economy and education. During the event, company representatives delivered a presentation outlining Huawei’s achievements in Uzbekistan and its future plans for expansion in the Ferghana Valley.
Key strategic goals of the new branch include:
– Supporting the “Digital Ferghana” initiative;
– Developing the region’s human capital;
– Collaborating with local universities to train qualified specialists;
– Implementing advanced digital solutions across enterprises and institutions.
Special emphasis was placed on cooperation in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and digital education.
At the conclusion of the event, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Ferghana regional administration and Huawei Tech Investment Tashkent LLC. The agreement paves the way for the launch of new joint projects in the region.
The opening of Huawei’s branch in Ferghana marks an important step toward sustainable digital development and the strengthening of international technological partnerships in the region.
