Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 11 February, Minister for Development of Information Technologies and Communications Shukhrat Sadikov received the newly appointed CEO of Huawei in Uzbekistan Liu Jiaxin.

Welcoming the guest from China, Minister Sadikov noted Huawei has been working in Uzbekistan for many years and contributed to development of telecommunication technologies in the republic, the press service of the Ministry for Development of Information Technologies and Communications of Uzbekistan said.

In turn, the general director of Huawei in Uzbekistan Liu Jiaxin expressed the company’s readiness to strengthen and develop relations with the Uzbek side in the framework of the implementation of priority investment projects in the field of high technologies.

During the conversation, the priority issues that the Ministry sets for itself in the near future as part of the development of ICT in Uzbekistan with the involvement of Chinese investment were considered. In particular, the prospects for the development of partnerships in the framework of the investment project "Safe City" were discussed.

The parties noted their interest in the further development of mutually beneficial cooperation in this direction and expressed their readiness to discuss further steps in bilateral cooperation.
