Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A media dialogue with the participation of media representatives and bloggers was held in Tashkent, organized by the Central Bank of Uzbekistan.

The event focused on the trends and future prospects of retail payments using bank cards.

During the meeting, experts presented key growth indicators for the country's cashless payment market.

According to the regulator, in 2024, the volume of transactions through the interbank payment system reached 7.279 trillion soums. The system of instant payments is also actively developing: during the reporting period, 47.6 million transactions were processed through it. Additionally, there has been a rise in the popularity of QR payments, with the total volume exceeding 441.7 billion soums.

Participants were introduced to modern contactless solutions such as "Humo Pay" and "Tap-to-Phone," and informed about the advantages of digital identification (e-KYC). Special attention was given to the integration of national payment systems HUMO and UZCARD with international operators like VISA, Mastercard, and UnionPay. Furthermore, experts provided a detailed overview of measures to enhance cybersecurity in the financial services sector.

The dialogue participants received comprehensive answers to relevant questions, deepening their knowledge of contemporary payment technologies.

The event contributed to raising awareness about the dynamics of cashless transactions in Uzbekistan.
