History and culture of Uzbekistan presented in Tokyo
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A presentation “Uzbekistan – historic center of Great Silk Road”, dedicated to history and culture of Uzbekistan, as well as Uzbek-Japanese friendly relations, was held in Tokyo.

It was organized at Mitsukoshi Cultural Center, Jahon news agency reported. It was held in cooperation with Professor of Japan History Institute Yasuo Koguchi. Professors of Japanese universities, scientific circles and public of Tokyo familiarized with ancient history, rich cultural and traditional Uzbek people, architecture sights and historic route of Silk Road, linking of Samarkand and Nara (Japan).

At the presentation, it was noted that the territory of modern Uzbekistan is one of the ancient centers of human civilization and has more than 3,000-year history of statehood.

Speakers noted that being a cradle of world civilization, land of Uzbekistan for many centuries served as a bridge between East and West, uniting and embodying the cultural, scientific and spiritual wealth of the continent.

A video about architectural monuments of ancient of Uzbekistan, its culture and traditions, modern life was shown at the event.

Yasuo Koguchi presented information about Uzbekistan and results of archeological excavations Afrasiab and Dalvarzintepa, ancient trade routes between Central Asia and Japan. Archeological findings show that Uzbek and Japanese people have close social-economic ties.

Within the event, the exhibition of tourism potential of Uzbekistan was also presented.
