High-speed train Afrosiyob to run five times a week
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzjeldorpass open joint stock company introduced new frequencies of high-speed train Afrosiyob on route Tashkent-Samarkand-Tashkent, the press service of the company said.

The company said that high-speed passenger train Afrosiyob, number 162/161, will run five times a week on route Tashkent-Samarkand-Tashkent.

It added that Afrosiyob will run between Tashkent and Samarkand on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The train will leave Tashkent at 8:00 and arrive in Samarkand at 10:30. The return train will leave at 17:00 and arrive in Tashkent at 19:38.

Uzjeldorpass said that in this connection, it introduces changes to schedule of train No. 10 “Sharq” on route Tashkent-Bukhara and train No. 8 “Nasaf” on route Tashkent-Qarshi. The first train will leave Tashkent at 8:30 and the second at 8:50.

High-speed train Afrosiyob started to carry out regular trips between two cities from 8 October 2011.

Afrosiyob train, produced in Spain by Patentes Talgo S. A., runs at the speed of 250 kmh and passes the 344 km distance between Tashkent and Samarkand in two hours.

Total capacity of the train makes up 257 people. The electricity train consists of two locomotives, 8 passenger cars and one dining-car. The train has VIP, first class and economy class places. The trains can be used by people with limited abilities
