Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — As of 2 November 2024, heating and hot water rates in Tashkent have increased by 15%.
According to a decision by the Tashkent city administration on 31 October, residential rates have risen by 15%, now totaling 121,617 soums per Gcal, up from the previous rate of 105,754 soums. The last rate increase for residents occurred on 2 April, following the end of the heating season.
Rates for legal entities have also risen by 15%, reaching 244,497 soums per Gcal (previously 212,606 soums). The last increase for this category was at the end of 2023. Meanwhile, rates for budget organizations remain unchanged at 801,963 soums per Gcal.
In February 2024, Veolia Energy Tashkent proposed to the Tashkent City Council to raise heating and hot water rates for residents by 15%, as residents currently cover only 14% of the base cost, with the remainder subsidized by the city budget. The council approved the increase on 12 September.
