Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The heads of the Central Election Commissions of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan and Russia will visit the Central Election Commission of Belarus today, said Elena Grigorovich, head of the department of legal, analytical and methodological work of the Central Election Commission, BELTA reports.
“Today, the Central Election Commission will host a series of bilateral meetings between the chairman and the heads of the central election bodies of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan and Russia,” said Elena Grigorovich.
During the meetings, bilateral relations in the electoral sphere, joint projects within the framework of the work of the Advisory Council of Heads of Electoral Bodies of the CIS Member States will be discussed, and opinions will be exchanged on current issues on the international agenda.
At the end of the day, the head of the observer mission from the Shanghai Cooperation Organization will visit the Central Election Commission of Belarus.
“During these meetings, the CEC chairman will inform international observers about the progress of preparations for the election campaign in Belarus and about its features. In addition, there will be an exchange of views on the prospects for the development of bilateral cooperation. By the way, tomorrow a protocol on cooperation between the Central Election Commissions of Belarus and Uzbekistan will be signed,” added Elena Grigorovich.
