Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic - Head of the Presidential Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic Akylbek Japarov met with Chairman of the Sughd region of the Republic of Tajikistan Rajabba Ahmadzoda and Khokim of the Fergana region of the Republic of Uzbekistan Khairullo Bozarov as part of the regular regional meeting of the governors of Batken, Sughd and Ferghana areas. This was reported by the press service of the CIS Executive Committee.

During the meeting, the Head of the Cabinet of Ministers conveyed words of greeting on behalf of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic and noted that the resumption of the practice of holding such regional meetings indicates a commitment to strengthening and expanding cooperation between the border regions.

The readiness of the Kyrgyz side for an open and meaningful conversation on the entire spectrum of Kyrgyz-Tajik and Kyrgyz-Uzbek relations was expressed.

It was noted that Kyrgyzstan attaches particular importance to the development of cooperation with the bordering fraternal states - the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan in the spirit of friendship, good neighborliness and mutual understanding.

“Close interregional cooperation, maintaining active contacts between regions, both in bilateral and multilateral formats, will contribute to strengthening peace and stability in the border areas. In this context, it is important to complete the process of delimitation and demarcation of sections of the state border between our countries as soon as possible in the spirit of mutual trust. I am deeply convinced that the final solution of border issues between our countries will contribute to the further strengthening of fraternal relations, strengthening stability and security in the Central Asian region,” Akylbek Zhaparov emphasized.

The head of the Cabinet of Ministers expressed hope that cooperation between the countries would continue to develop progressively and fruitfully on the basis of traditional and centuries-old friendship between the Kyrgyz, Tajik and Uzbek peoples.
