The FIFA U-20 World Cup will be held in New Zealand, which starts on 30 May. Uzbekistan will play against Honduras (1 June), Germany (4 June) and Fiji (7 June).

Haydarov said that Uzbekistan hopes to reach semifinals of the tournament and improve performances of previous teams. He said that the goal should be achieved stage-by-stage. He noted that Uzbekistan is focused on group stage matches.

Uzbekistan coach said that one of the team leaders Jamshid Boltaboev will miss the tournament via injury, while Babur Davlatov, who plays for Russia’s Rubin, will not be able to participate in the tournament as he did not trained with the team.

Ravshan Haydarov said he watched matches of opponents. He said that he was impressed with the teams.
