Finance 27/07/2007 Hamkor Bank to issue 6bn soums in mortgage loans by 2008
Hamkor Bank actively cooperates with foreign and international companies and financial institutions. One of them is the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). The loans issued by this financial institution help provide assistance to the private sector participants.

Hamkor Bank’s 16 branches give out micro-loans from the EBRD lines. Some 20,000 entrepreneurs have borrowed micro-loans, which allowed creating over 60,000 new jobs.

Apart form micro-loans, Hamkor Bank also offers loans to the population for the purchases of housing, cars, construction materials, consumer goods, and for traveling. In the first half of this year, nearly 6,000 clients were issued consumer credits for the total amount of 26 billion soums.

This year, the bank plans to introduce a consumer loan intended to cover medical and dentistry expenses.

The bank started to issue mortgage loans in November 2006. To date, it has issued mortgage loans totaling 1.5 billion soums. By the end of the year the figure is expected to reach 5-6 billion soums.

On the conditions of long-term leasing, the bank provides clients an opportunity to purchase technology and equipment from abroad. Leasing finds especially high demand among small business entities. Since the beginning of the year, leasing services have been provided to Ashf Farm for the procurement of equipment to produce gauze (130 million soums), Karshi based Laztehtransservice LLC for the procurement of five cars (100 million soums), Jura Transservice for the procurement of six cars (120 million soums), Gavhar Shifo Maskani for the ophthalmology tools (56,585 euros), Ipak Yuli AvtoTrans for 28 vehicles (588,363 million soums).

The total amount of leasing loans issued by Hamkor Bank to date has totaled 1.6 billion soums.

To improve the efficiency of foreign currency operations, and interbank transfers, the bank has joined SWIFT system. Moreover, the bank also has partnership agreements with the international money transfer systems of Western Union, Contact, Bystraya Pochta, UniStream, Migom. Since the beginning of the year express money transfer services have been provided to 93,255 clients.

Time deposit plans of Barkaror and Barkaror Kursatuvchiga have been popular among the clients for several years. The bank also pays high interest on the plans of Universal and Takdim Etuvchiga. The number of depositors holding accounts in national and foreign currency has grown 1.3 times compared to last year to 28,500.

The bank also pays close attention to the non-cash payment services. To date the bank has issued 12,086 plastic cards and installed 155 terminals.

The Hamkor Bank currently has over 15,000 clients, of whom 1,000 are corporate entities. The bank has 24 branches, 60 mini-banks and around 85 cash desks in nine regions of the country.
