Half marathon dedicated to Navruz holiday takes place in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Half marathon dedicated to Navruz holiday takes place in Tashkent on 24 March 2019.

It was attended by over 1,700 participants, including both professional athletes and just runners from 28 states. About 680 participants competed at a distance of 21 km, about 1,000 runners at a distance of 5 km, the press service of the Tashkent city administration said.

Within the framework of the first half marathon, 1 km long races for people with disabilities were also organized.

The participants had the opportunity to observe the course of the competition online through the installed monitor. At the finish line, the winners were greeted with a storm of applause; each of them was awarded a commemorative medal. The organized bright concert program gave the participants and fans a lot of unforgettable impressions.

At a distance of 5 km among women, the top three included:

At a distance of 21 km, the winners are:

Adilet Kyshimbetov (Republic of Kyrgyzstan)

Andrei Petrov (Republic of Uzbekistan)

At a distance of 21 km among women, the winners are:

Dariya Maslova (Republic of Kyrgyzstan)

Sitora Yamidova (Republic of Uzbekistan)

Ekaterina Tunguskova (Republic of Uzbekistan)

Athletes, who are in the top eight, received cash awards in the amount of 12 million soums to 3 million soums, depending on the place occupied by the participant, each of them was awarded a special diploma and a medal of the competition.
