Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Participants of the Jizzakh International Investment Forum paid a visit to glass plant in the territory of special economic zone “Jizzakh”.
Deputy Prime Minister and chairperson of the State Committee of Uzbekistan on investment Sukhrob Holmuradov said that Uzbekistan pays great attention to improving legislation in investment sector, which should ensure stability and predictability to investors, as well as exclude the excessive burden of legal regulation
He said that the country focused on development of necessary infrastructure in the regions of Uzbekistan. New free economic zones are operating in all regions, which provide various preferences. Currently, there are 19 such zone, two of which work in Jizzakh region – Jizzakh and Zomin-Farm free economic zones.
He said that positive changes demonstrate activation of the activity of international financial instiutions such as World Bank, ADB, EDRD, IDB, EIB and foreign governmental financial organizations.
Uzbekistan is also developing cooperation with foreign countries such as Russia, Turkey, China, Kazakhstan, South Korea and others.
The participants of the forum attended the National Exhibition of Good Producers and enterprises, which operate in Jizzakh region.
Foreign guests, representatives of international financial organizations, diplomatic missions and business circles visited several enterprises of the region, including Jizzakh Toshtepa Textile, Luxury Furniture Business and Minh Yuan Silu Industry, a glass plant in Jizzakh free economic zone.
Total cost of the glass plant project is about US$110 million. About US$28.9 million was directed to realization of the first stage of the plant.
Full commissioning of the enterprise is planned for 2019. Thus, the Jizzakh Glass Factory will become the largest producer and supplier of flat glass in Central Asia.
