Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- ADB Head for Central and West Asia Yevgeny Zhukov answered a question from a Repost.uz correspondent about the prospects for reforms to transition Uzbekistan to a "green" economy until 2030.

We supported the government of Uzbekistan not only in words, but also by providing the republic with a US$150 million loan earlier this year, which included support for a plan to transition to a Green Economy, Zhukov said at the 56th annual ADB meeting.

These plans are drawn up for a very long term, but we will support them through concrete actions in the next three years,” the speaker concluded.

The presidential decree “On measures to increase the effectiveness of reforms aimed at the transition of the Republic of Uzbekistan to a “green” economy until 2030” was signed in December last year.

The Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction has been designated as the authorized body for coordinating activities to promote the "green" economy and implement the principles of "green" growth, reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the sectors of the economy.
