Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Project Office "Green Economy Project Center" under the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan and UzAssets Joint Stock Company have signed a memorandum of mutual cooperation.
The primary goal of the memorandum is to establish mutually beneficial cooperation between the parties to implement green economy projects, reduce losses in industrial sectors, and enhance resource efficiency as part of the "Strategy for Transition to a Green Economy of the Republic of Uzbekistan."
Under the agreement, the parties will collaborate and provide support in the area of renewable energy certificate trading. Systematic work is also planned to reduce greenhouse gas inventories at state-owned enterprises and issue renewable energy certificates.
Additionally, the parties will assist in the evaluation and implementation of "green" projects planned for enterprises with state participation. The implementation of ESG principles and reporting at state-owned enterprises will also be a focus of their joint efforts.
The organizations plan to hold joint events to develop and implement green economy projects, including capacity building, knowledge exchange, strengthening networks, and developing mutually beneficial relationships.
