Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The British company AGT Poortman has expressed interest in importing mung bean from Uzbekistan.

According to the Dunyo agency, a meeting was held at the Uzbek Embassy in London with the chief consultant of the British company AGT Poortman, James Halford, on the issue of exporting mung bean from Uzbekistan to the UK.

The AGT Poortman, with 30 years of experience in the UK and an annual turnover of US$2 billion, expressed its readiness to cooperate with Uzbekistan in the field of import of pulses.

After conducting marketing research, the company recognized the quality of pulses from Uzbekistan as competitive in the British market.

James Halford expressed his readiness to purchase 10,000 tons of mung bean from Uzbekistan and begin discussing this issue with the Main State Inspectorate for Plant Quarantine.
