Grants handed over to children creativity, adult initiatives
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Final gala concert of Yangi avlod (New generation) Children’s Art Festival has been held at Istiqlol Palace in Tashkent on 19 December 2011, the Fund Forum’s press service said.

The Fund Forum said that winners of social and grant programmes of Mehr Nuri Foundation, Women’s Council and Social Initiative Support Fund (SISF) joined over 613 laureates of the Yangi avlod.

Some 30 grants were allocated to entrepreneurs to develop business and 12 regional NGOs to implement social projects, five rural medical points received certificates to install alternative source of energy and 14 women were awarded within the project “Support of women farmers and entrepreneurs”. At the same time, Tamara Kallykylychova has been named as the Woman of the Year.

The fund added that talented children presented their songs and dances at Yangi Avlod along with the stars like Munojan Yolchiyeva, Zulayho Bayhanova, Hosila Rakhimova, Rukhshona, Bojalar and Zarba. The concert presented creative works of the children. The young talents presented national music and songs, opera songs and dances. All participants received with diploma and prizes. Young painters and poets were also awarded.

On the same day, the winners of the programmes “Grants for development of family entrepreneurship development” and “Grants for development of small and medium business and farming” of the Mehr Nuri Foundation were also awarded. Within the first programme, 15 women received grants for 1.5 million soums each, while within the second one 15 starting businesses and farmers got 15 grants for 2.5 million soums each.

The Grant programme on supporting socially-important projects of regional NGOs of the SISF also summed up its results. Some 12 NGOs from regions received grants for total sum of 31 million soums. This was second round of the programme as the first one was held in June 2011.

About 14 women were awarded within the project “Support of women farmers and entrepreneurs” of the SISF. The Fund said that 789 women received microloans for 10.6 billion soums this year within the project.

Third joint initiative of the SISF and the Fund Forum became charity initiative of alternative energy sources (wind and solar energy) at small social objects. This year, five rural medical points received certificates for installing alternative energy facilities.

Chairperson of Trustee Council of Fund Forum Gulnara Karimova handed over keys from Matiz car to the winner of the competition the Woman of the Year, organized by Women’s Council, to Tamara Kallaykylychova, director of School No.5 of Shumanay district of Karakalpakstan.
