Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation from Ferghana region, led by the region’s Governor Khayrullo Bozorov, visited Shandong Province in China.

During the visit, Governor Bozorov held a meeting with the Secretary of the Communist Party of Shandong Province, Lin Wu. The discussions focused on expanding cooperation between the two regions.

It was noted that the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and China is developing rapidly, covering an increasing number of areas.

Shandong is one of China’s oldest and fastest-growing provinces, playing a significant role as both a cultural and philosophical center of the country.

During the constructive dialogue, it was emphasized that productive cooperation has already been established between Shandong and Ferghana Region, and the meetings held were an important step towards bringing these relations to a new level.

It was reported that Ferghana entrepreneurs are actively working with cities in Shandong, such as Jinan, Dezhou, Zibo, and Weifang, implementing joint projects worth over $500 million.

New initiatives were proposed for the effective use of Shandong’s potential and further expansion of trade, economic, and investment relations between the regions.

Particular attention was given to the prospects of implementing projects in sectors such as high technologies, electrical engineering, the textile industry, copper processing, agriculture, mechanical engineering, tourism, and information technologies.

The parties also discussed initiatives to create the “Ferghana-Shandong Green Industry Park” and to organize Culture Days in both countries.

Governor Bozorov expressed confidence that through active interaction and joint efforts, significant results could be achieved, and long-term mutually beneficial projects successfully implemented.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to develop a “roadmap” for the identified areas and accelerate efforts in the framework of bilateral cooperation.

Governor Khayrullo Bozorov also visited the company “Shandong Oubiao Information Technology Co., Ltd.”, located in the industrial zone of Jinan city, where he learned about the company’s activities specializing in "smart" water management and the development of innovative technologies for agriculture. The company operates using digital technologies and solar panels, enabling efficient water management in agriculture.

Governor Bozorov held talks with company representatives about possible cooperation in this field. An important aspect is the attraction of modern technologies for the rational use and conservation of water in agriculture.

It was proposed to test the company’s products in Ferghana Region and establish a corresponding enterprise.

Company representatives expressed their readiness to visit Ferghana to familiarize themselves with the opportunities and begin joint projects. Chinese investors also showed interest in implementing projects in promising sectors of Ferghana Region.

During the working visit of the Ferghana delegation to China, significant agreements were reached with more than 30 companies and business circles from the city of Jinan. Investment projects were discussed in sectors such as construction, industry, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, hospitality, and building materials production. Following the meetings, measures were outlined for the implementation of the proposed projects.

The forum, which was attended by the Ferghana delegation, regional entrepreneurs, and about 150 representatives of business circles from Shandong, became an important platform for strengthening bilateral mutually beneficial cooperation.

Governor Khayrullo Bozorov noted that relations between Uzbekistan and China have reached a qualitatively new level, which contributes to the activation of interregional cooperation. He emphasized the successful cooperation with companies and entrepreneurs from Shandong Province, as well as the implementation of promising projects in the region. The Governor expressed readiness to support initiatives and projects in various sectors and invited representatives of Shandong’s business circles to visit Ferghana Region.

The Deputy Chairman of the Shandong Chamber of Commerce, Sun Meizhui, suggested strengthening economic cooperation between the regions and implementing joint projects. The forum also showcased investment opportunities in Ferghana Region and conditions for entrepreneurs, while highlighting various initiatives covering numerous industries and sectors.

Additionally, it was announced that “Woerde Group” has been appointed as the representative of Ferghana Region in Shandong.

Governor Bozorov held a meeting with a delegation of businessmen led by the President of “Woerde Group” Shan Xuemai. The “Woerde Group” brings together 43 enterprises and actively operates in areas such as construction, logistics, consulting, tourism, and culture. During the meeting, the achievements and products of the holding company were presented.

Governor Bozorov noted the favorable conditions for implementing projects in Ferghana and expressed willingness to cooperate. As a result of the meeting, a cooperation agreement was signed, and an agreement was reached to begin practical implementation of joint projects.
