Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The procedure for compensating Uzbek citizens for part of the costs of acquiring renewable energy sources (RES) was approved by Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers on 5 October 2022.

From 1 October 2022, citizens of Uzbekistan (individuals) can purchase solar and wind power plants and solar water heating devices of domestic production with payment in installments without interest for three years.

In addition, when paying the full cost of RES devices, consumers can receive compensation.

The provision of benefits and preferences for the purchase of renewable energy devices is entrusted to Extra-budgetary Intersectoral Energy Saving Fund under the Ministry of Energy.

According to the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers, the amount of compensation for the installation of a solar or wind power plant to individuals, depending on the capacity, is:

- from 0.5 kW to 1 kW - 7 sizes of basic estimated value;

- from 1 kW to 1.5 kW - 10 sizes of basic estimated value;

- from 1.5 kW to 2 kW - 15 sizes of basic estimated value;

- 2 kW and above - 20 sizes of basic estimated value.

- When developing new lands and installing water pumps in vertical wells, supplied with electricity from renewable energy sources of 5 kW and above, compensation of 50 sizes of basic estimated value is provided.

The amount of compensation for the installation of solar water heating installations that produce 4 kW/h daily with a water heating volume of 100 liters is 5 sizes of basic estimated value, with a water heating volume of 200 liters or the plant generates 8 kW/h of energy daily for water heating - the amount of compensation is 7 sizes of basic estimated value.

State support for the introduction of renewable energy sources is carried out using a single electronic platform of the Fund (Platform).

Offers for the sale of products and services of enterprises that produce and provide services for renewable energy sources are posted on the Platform. At the same time, the list of enterprises included in the Platform is provided by the Uzeltekhsanoat Association.

Applications of individuals for compensation or installment plans are submitted online through the Platform.
