Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Gishtkuprik checkpoint on the Uzbek-Kazakh border will temporarily cease operations for four months starting from 5 February. This was announced by the Customs Committee of Uzbekistan.
The closure is due to the completion of large-scale construction and renovation works. As part of the modernization, temporary infrastructure will be dismantled, the area will be upgraded, and a new, modern customs zone will be created.
From 5 February 2025, the movement of citizens and vehicles previously passing through Gishtkuprik will be redirected to the Navoi border and customs post, located in the same area of the Tashkent region.
To facilitate passenger traffic, the movement of light vehicles and buses will be allowed, while cargo transport will be restricted through the Navoi checkpoint.
