Germany to welcome 800 nurses from Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan and Germany have reached an agreement to prepare drivers for railway and bus transport, as well as nurses, announced Minister of Employment Behzod Musayev.

In an interview with Uzbekistan 24 TV, Musayev discussed the agreements signed with Germany, including an intergovernmental agreement on comprehensive partnership in the fields of migration and mobility.

He noted that, due to the demand for labor in Germany's medical and transport sectors, German language courses will be organized in Uzbekistan for interested candidates. After successfully passing exams, candidates will be sent to Germany.

The Minister emphasized that this is the first step towards creating a transparent and organized migration process.

“We have agreed with Deutsche Bahn to train bus and railway drivers, and with Globogate to train nurses,” Musayev added.

According to him, more than 800 nurses from Uzbekistan will be sent to Germany this year in an organized manner, with 400 already having arrived and the others taking language exams. Their salaries will be no less than 2,200 euros, the Minister noted.

Additionally, Uzbek specialists will have opportunities to train in high technologies in the fields of engineering, transportation, and medicine in Germany.

“This agreement can be considered historic. While India and Germany worked on a similar agreement for six years, thanks to the strategic relations between Uzbekistan and Germany, this complex document was prepared and signed in one year. Today’s agreement covers not just one or three years but 10 to 30 years,” said Behzod Musayev.

The agreement will also address simplified visa procedures, and agreements are planned with several German employers.
