Germany hands over seismologic equipment to Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Ministry of Foreign Affair of Germany and German Research Centre for Geosciences handed over a set of seismologic equipment to Institute of Seismology of Uzbekistan Science Academy.

The Embassy of Germany in Uzbekistan said that the equipment was handed over 10 November 2011 at the presence of the Germany Ambassador Wolfgang Neuen.

The set of seismologic equipment consists of three modern digital seismic stations with software on processing seismic data.

After installation of the equipment, Tashkent seismic station will be connected to international network of seismic stations of Central Asia CAREMON and Tashkent station will start to receive and send seismic stations across Central Asia and globally in real time mode.

The embassy said that handing over the equipment is another step in long-term scientific-technical cooperation of Uzbek and German scientists, which started in 1992.

Within the cooperation, the sides are also holding trainings, offered by GFZ and financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany.
