The German national team defeated Costa Rica with a score of 4:2. Serge Gnabry (10th minute), Kai Havertz (73, 85) and Niklas Füllkrug (90+1) scored the goals for Germany. Yeltsin Tejeda (58) and Juan Vargas (70) were on target for Costa Rica.
Belgium played a 0-0 draw with Croatia and left the World Cup.
Japan beat Spain with the score 2:1 in the third round of the World Cup group stage. Ritsu Doan (48th minute) and Ao Tanaka (51) scored for Japan. Alvaro Morata (11) scored for Spain.
Morocco advanced to the 1/8 finals of the World Cup from first place in Group F, defeating the Canadian team with a score of 2:1. Hakim Ziyech (4th minute) and Youssef En-Nesiri (23) became the authors of goals for Morocco, in the 40th minute Naif Ager scored an own goal, scoring the first own goal in the World Cup.
