Gerede Jelatin plans to implement a new project in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Gerede district became the next point of business visit of the Uzcharmsanoat association and a delegation of leather and footwear enterprises to the Republic of Türkiye. Constructive negotiations and effective dialogue formed the basis for new joint projects between representatives of the business communities of the two countries.

Member enterprises of the Association visited the Gerede District Chamber of Commerce and Industry and held negotiations on the development of bilateral trade and economic relations. At the meeting, delegates from Uzbekistan provided foreign partners with detailed information about reforms in the leather and footwear industry, its production, investment and export potential, systems of benefits and preferences.

Gerede region in Türkiye is a large production area in the field of leather processing. Today there are 127 tanneries operating here. The enterprises are capable of processing four tons of leather per day. 54 enterprises have been modernized in accordance with European standards and process leather based on new technologies. LWG standards have been implemented in most leather factories. There are also six gelatin factories in the area. Their annual income is about US$100 million.

The delegation visited production plants and got acquainted with the experience of Turkey, the latest technologies and innovations in the field of leather processing. Particular attention was paid to the issue of ensuring careful treatment of the environment.

Gerede Jelatin intends to build new production facilities in Uzbekistan. At the meeting with responsible structures, organizational and practical work on the implementation of this project was discussed. Representatives of the company will visit Uzbekistan in March and analyze the conditions and opportunities for launching the project and consider the timing of its implementation. Based on the results of the results, the company will begin construction of a gelatin plant in the MPZ.

As part of the visit to the Gerede District Chamber of Commerce and Industry, an entrepreneurs’ forum was held. Turkish partners were given information about the leather industry of Uzbekistan and its prospects. After the event, B2B meetings also took place.

Business people of the two countries reached effective agreements to expand cooperation. In particular, the Uzbek KFK and the Turkish Doner Deri discussed the issue of launching joint production of shoes and exporting them to other countries. 

During the meeting, the parties discussed practical and organizational aspects of this project. A Turkish company plans to visit our country in March. By the end of the year, the parties plan to sign an agreement on the implementation of the new project.
