Georgia opens air borders for citizens of four Central Asian countries

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Georgia opens air borders for citizens of Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.

The corresponding decision was made today by the interdepartmental coordination council, the press service of the government of the country reports.

Citizens of the above countries at the border will have to present a certificate of negative PCR test carried out 72 hours before the trip. On the 3rd day of their stay in Georgia, they are obliged to undergo re-testing at their own expense.

Land and sea borders remain closed to all tourists. The exemptions apply only to those who arrive in the country by air.

From 1 March 2021, citizens of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Russia can also enter Georgia with a negative coronavirus test result. Similar rules were previously established for citizens and residents of the member states of the European Union, Israel, Switzerland, Norway, USA, Great Britain, Qatar, UAE, Bahrain, Turkey.

Due to the improvement in the epidemiological situation, the Georgian authorities have completely canceled the ban on regular flights, which had been in effect since March 2020, on February 1.

All foreigners who have completed a full course of vaccination against coronavirus can count on unconditional entry into Georgia and can present the relevant document at the border.
